Woman sues in Florida after police officer who arrested her for indecent exposure video speaks out
Posted September 12, 2018 11:03:31 A Florida woman who was arrested in a bizarre incident involving an officer in her backyard who recorded her masturbating has filed a lawsuit.
The incident occurred at a house in Pinellas Park, Florida, and was captured on a cellphone video.
The woman says the incident escalated into a “savage assault.”
The video has since gone viral.
According to the lawsuit, the woman was taken to jail after she was found “repeatedly masturbating in a public place.”
“It is now apparent that the defendant was not aware of her actions and acted in an inappropriate manner,” the suit says.
“The Defendant’s actions were grossly inappropriate and in clear violation of Florida’s criminal law.”
The suit claims the officer’s actions constituted a criminal violation and were motivated by the defendant’s age.
“If a man is a rapist, the same woman who committed that rape will be guilty of the same crime as her rapist,” the lawsuit says.
The lawsuit alleges that the officer, identified only as “B.T.” in the lawsuit and identified as “A.R.” in court documents, “made a series of racist, derogatory and offensive comments about the plaintiff’s physical appearance, including stating that ‘she’s just a little girl’ and that she ‘just needs a hug.’
He also made derogatory comments about plaintiff’s race, calling her ‘white’ and ‘beautiful.'”
The suit also says that the video “revealed Plaintiff’s nudity and sexualized behavior,” but that the officers “were not aware” of that, and that they were “ignorant of the fact that Plaintiff had been arrested for the offense of indecent exposure.”
The officer, who was not named in the suit, was terminated on Sept. 17, according to the police department.
The officer has since been fired.
According, the officer was given a one-day suspension without pay for violating department policy.
A spokesperson for the Pinellascape Police Department told CBS News that the matter is currently under investigation.
