New England Patriots’ Matt Light talks to WQAM reporter, Tom Breihan
New England Patriot Matt Light said Wednesday that he hasn’t spoken to Tom Breichan since the New York Daily News reported that Light had a sexual relationship with a woman in 2016.
“I haven’t spoken with him.
I’ve spoken to him and he’s gone,” Light said.
“He’s a professional.
I’m not going to speak to him.”
Light’s lawyer, Richard Fenton, said he was not familiar with Breichans relationship with Light, and said he hadn’t heard from Light since January.
“I have no comment on that whatsoever,” Fenton said.
The New York Times reported Wednesday that Light and Breichanian had an affair in 2014.
Light and his girlfriend were at a New York City nightclub and had sex, but Breichanski told police that Light, who was then a New England assistant coach, had kissed him inappropriately.
Breichansky also said Light had been unfaithful to his wife, who also was a New Orleans Saints assistant coach.
Light, now the head coach of the San Diego Chargers, told reporters in May that Breichankans behavior “was completely inappropriate.”
“There are very few things more inappropriate than kissing your wife,” Light told reporters.
“We’ve got a good relationship.
We’ve been married for 14 years and we’ve never had any problems with each other.”
Breichansky and Light did not respond to requests for comment.
Light is the fifth coach to be fired by the New England team since 2011.
Former coach Bill Belichick, who had been with the Patriots for five years, left to become the head of the New Orleans Rams in the offseason.
